Hi I started developing in VS2010 Sp1 today. The development machine is 64bit and has Windows 7 and IE9. Everything compiles from VS2005 and all is well, except I cant disable the Script Debugger. I am having so many problems its not even funny. Telerik especially is giving me problems.
I have tried different IE compatabilities but this didn't work either. I also tried different Browser Modes and Document Modes which I changed in Developer Tools in IE9. So eventually I'll get to all the errors and update them, but for now I cant proceed since the script debugger freezes my project when I have to select Break/Continue/Ignore at certain points while it works in VS2005.
There was a regkey workaround for VS2008, but it doesn't work in 2010 I have read of a workaround -go to Start Options which is within the web site Property Pages - select 'Silverlight' since VS cant debug both scripting and Silverlight at the same time. Thus if you enable Silverlight debugging for your project, (even though it does not use Silverlight) then at least you can disable the script debugging. I can confirm that in my IE9, the settings are checked for 'Disable Script Debugging (IE)' and 'Disable Script Debugging (Other)' So Im going to go the silverlight workaround route. Now I want to find out exactly which Silverlight files i install, and in which order please. It is a 64 bit machine, but my VS files are located in C: Program Files (x86) Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0 folder At this point, there is no silverlight installed on my PC at all, and the message I get from VS if i select Silverlight as Debugging option is 'Unable to start debugging. The Silverlight Developer Runtime is not installed. Please install a matching version'.
This page shows some of the problems people had when installing wrong versions. So which of these files should I download in which order? 1) Silverlight 5 Tools for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 (this is the SDK then - 'The Silverlight 5 SDK is included in the tools installation') 2) Silverlight 5 Toolkit 3) Silverlight 5 Developer Runtime for Windows (32 bit) 4) Silverlight 5 Developer Runtime for Windows (64 bit) Thank you.
